Avon Mattifying Foundation Review:

I’ve been wearing this foundation for the past fortnight & worn with Avon’s MagiX Face Perfector, it lasts all day with no need for powder. It’s quick & easy to apply, giving an even coverage & reducing excess oil by 62%. Prior to using this foundation, I was an avid wearer of the Calming Effects Illuminating Foundation, due to it’s creamy formula & flawless coverage, however it’s safe to say, it has stiff competition! Avon’s mattifying foundation is perfect for summer as it’s mattifying formula resists sweat & heat, its a must for summer make-up bags!

Outspoken - A Fragrance By Fergie

This fragrance is one of my absolute favourites & is very popular with my customers...
The scent is very sensual. Perfumes  smell differently on different bodies. Personally, I find the fragrance warm enough for daytime, yet powerful enough for the evening. The scent is long lasting & I found that I did not have to re-apply it during the day...

The glamorous packaging is a must have for those of you who like your celebrity fragrances! Outspoken by Fergie, is exclusive to Avon...

♥ Fergie's first signature fragrance
♥ A contrasting, rebellious perfume with confidence
♥ Launched 3 June 2010

(information obtained via Avon)

Outspoken is the first fragrance developed in partnership with multi-platinum recording artist
Fergie. Described as strong and outrageously bold, Outspoken is for the woman who needs no introduction. Fergie's personality is described as fearless, true to herself and her beliefs.“I’m so excited to partner with Avon to develop my first-ever fragrance,”Fergie comments. “I’m always seeking out new ways to express myself, and fragrance is the perfect opportunity to share my originality and confidence with my fans, and the Avon consumer.”
The scent and packaging reflects
Fergie's true nature, a combination of the edgy rock chick who is sexy and not afraid of being noticed and the belle of the ball who is traditionally feminine and mysterious. Not for the faint hearted, Outspoken is about being bold, sexy and uninhibited.

The fragrance is a highly contrasted scent with a raw edge to shock the senses. Intoxicating and sensual, Outspoken combines equal parts of independence, confidence and femininity. Bold top notes impart a mysterious sensation that scintillates the senses, while the fearless feminine heart is sharply contrasted with raw sexiness and a distinct masculine edge from the racy black leather. The floral, fruity fragrance speaks volumes.

The inspiration for the Outspoken bottle came from
Fergie's wedding day; she recalls seeing a beautiful crystal decanter and wanted that classic elegant design to be reflected in her fragrance. The faceted diamond top is complimented by the seductive purple hue of the curved glass bottle; together symbolising the fragrance's confidence and femininity."I didn't want it to be so cutesy," Fergie said of the perfume which features starfruit, tuberose, jasmine, and passion flower with base notes of black leather and smoky vetiver.

MagiX Face Perfector

Make up primers; specifically foundation primers are becoming more popular, with more & more brands catching onto the idea... In short, their purpose is to prepare the face for a longer lasting make up effect.

In the past, it has been recognised that you should moisturise prior to applying foundation, followed by either a loose or a pressed powder, to create the finished effect.

Face Primers give the added bonus of smoothing out imperfections; such as open pores &/or fine lines. In addition to this; face primers propose to keep your make up on for longer & so, should be beneficial to all age groups.

For the past couple of months; I’ve been curious to try a face primer... My UDPP is a god send; my eyeshadow’s survived tears; eyebrow waxing, tidal wave, foam parties & even those nights where I’ve forgotten to remove my make-up - the idea that something could have the same benefits for my entire face seems too good to be true, but this is not the case...

As an Avon representative; I had the opportunity to order the Beauty Icons Kit, prior to Campaign 15... I was pleased that this kit included Avon’s MagiX Face Perfector...

Taken from the Avon Site:

Light-as-air gel-powder gives you a naturally flawless look, keeping shine away for up to 10 hours* Skin looks brighter and feels ultra-soft with pores and fine lines visibly smoothed*. Wear alone to help skin look its natural, radiant best or smooth it on, then blend on your foundation for the ultimate professional finish. SPF20.

On Friday night, I applied the Face Primer as directed by the packaging... “Apply over face and blend evenly, use alone or under foundation” - You need to let the Primer settle before applying foundation, it only takes a few minutes... Once I applied the rest of my make up, I went out for the evening... A number of people commented on my makeup throughout the evening & I have to say that by the time I’d taken it off, just after midnight everything was still in place... I have a terrible habit of touching my chin & resting my face on my hand... it’s usually pretty obvious as my make up comes off, however, since using the primer over this weekend, I’ve not had the same trouble. Obviously, it’s an added expense - but it’s definitely something worth investing in - even if you don’t choose to use it every day there are always occasions when you need your make-up to last that extra mile...

Clearskin: Blemish Clearing Stick

Clearskin, Blemish Clearing Stick

This clever concealer not only hides blemishes,
but helps to clear them up!

rrp: £3.50
currently half price @ £1.75

I bought this product during the last campaign & was pleasantly surprised to discover aswell as clearing blemishes, it also doubles up as a regular concealer!

I'd certainly recommend this product for the odd spot.
It applies smoothly, gives a good coverage & if you're using a concealer to hide a blemish or two,it makes sense to use a product which helps to clear, as well as cover them.

Value for money: ♥♥♥♥♥

Daily Skincare Regime

Firstly, I apply the Avon Clearskin: Invigorating face scrub - To use: '...massage onto a wet face...’
I've just started using this product & I seem to be getting on with it very well; especially when I'm feeling tired; it leaves my skin feeling clean & refreshed - the eucalyptus in the product gives me a bit of a boost; in fact I would say that it 'gives me a zing'...

Alternatively; another effective product which I have been using is: Avon Solutions Winter Collection - Fabulously Clean Cleanser '...gentle foaming cleansing cream, enriched with silk fibre peptide & provitam B5...' Unlike the scrub, the cleanser can be used on a daily basis as a facial wash.

Whether you use a cream cleanser or a foaming wash, it's always a good idea to use a skin toner after cleansing. The Avon Solutions Plus+ Maximum Moisture Hydrating Toner. When using a cream cleanser; the toner is a great back up for removing the last bits of dirt from your skin, additionally, it helps remove blackheads & close pores.

In the morning; I apply Avon Solutions Winter 'Enjoy The Day' Cream & in the evening following my make-up removal I apply Avon Solutions Winter Nourishing Night Cream...

The Solutions Winter Collection includes everything which your skin needs to beat the effects of winter:

The day cream includes SPF15; Bvitamins & Spanish lavender extract claims to immediately boost skins moisture levels by 151%. The night cream is enriched with rice bran oil & provitaminB5, it claims to make your skin look healthier within a week.

After 2 weeks, I can say that my skin is looking clearer, feeling refresed & it's very soft. Additionally, I think it's important to spend some time on yourself; this only takes a few minutes a day, but it's time well spent.
